I upgraded from 265/70R16s to 265/75R16s and I’m really enjoying it. Finally got rid of the stock tires that came with the truck and switched to Geolandars. I’ve noticed a slight drop in mpg, maybe 1-2 mpg, but overall, I’d definitely recommend the upgrade.
I really like that color, looks awesome

Thanks! I’m really glad I managed to get this color when I did.
That looks great! What kind of mpg are you getting now compared to before?

Thanks! Before the tires, I was averaging about 18 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. I do have a Magnuson supercharger and a lift, so those could affect my mpgs a little bit!
@Kelby
Was that on the stock 265/70R16s? I’m asking because I’m picking up a 2022 OR on Thursday, and it had some pretty bad tires put on it during its time as a dealer loaner… Trying to figure out how much I can push it before ruining my mpgs.
@Madden
Congrats on the new truck! What color did you get? Yep, the tires were the stock OEM 265/70R16s (Canada versions). I’m currently in city traffic in CA, and it looks like the new tires are giving me around 16-17 mpg. Haven’t tried highway yet but I can let you know after I do.
@Kelby
Thanks! It’s black.
Nice color!!

Thanks! I was really happy to find this one.
I’m curious… why is it worth upgrading to these tires if it affects the mpg and makes the speedometer off by 1 mph? Other than the looks and a bit more ground clearance, what do you think makes them worth it? I’m thinking about doing the same thing on my Tacoma. Thanks!
@Shane
No problem! This is the first time I’ve upgraded to a bigger tire than stock. Honestly, it’s just a personal preference for me. I do go overlanding and camping, but it’s not like I’m doing anything extreme, so I’m not expecting a huge difference in performance. Ultimately, it came down to what you mentioned—ground clearance and looks. For me, the loss of 1 mpg and the slight speedometer difference aren’t a big deal, and if I ever wanted to switch back, I could always do that.
What kind of front bumper bar is that? I like how it blends so well with the front.

It’s the Blitz Bumper from Victory 4x4. It’s a great option with minimal cutting, and you can return to stock if you ever want to.
