How do you guys feel about my setup? Fuel efficiency took a hit, but the look is definitely an upgrade!
That color really stands out. At first, I wasn’t sure, but now I think it looks awesome. The black wheels complete the look perfectly.
That’s a bold color! I love it. But I still don’t get why they keep making these with a 5’ bed instead of 6’. It’s just a little more material.

Yeah, but that ‘little more material’ adds a few thousand dollars to the price.
That orange is sweet! I really wanted red, but after waiting four months with no luck, I had to go with my backup choice—underground.

The red does look amazing. I mainly grabbed this one because it’s a manual, but I’ve really grown to love the color too.
@Dakota
A manual?! That’s a rare find, man. Hold on to that one.
Will installing a leveling kit void any part of the factory warranty?

No. I leveled my 23. No warranty issues….
@Paxton
My dad has a ‘22 TRD OR, and his dealer told him he could lift it up to 3” without voiding anything. Another sales guy in a different state told me that any non-OEM modification might void warranties related to the affected parts. I guess my real question is—will a 1.5” level be worth it, or could it mess up something like the front suspension?

The dealer I spoke to said yes, but only if the lift wasn’t done by an approved shop (California rules).
@Harley
That’s not true. Either they don’t know what they’re talking about or they’re just trying to scare you.
A warranty can’t be voided just because you use aftermarket parts or go to a third-party shop. They have to prove that the modification actually caused the problem before denying a claim.
@TacomaTraveler4
Appreciate the info! Does this apply in every state? And does it make a difference if the truck is leased?

It’s a federal law, so states can only make it better for consumers, not worse.
That said, even if you’re in the right, getting a dealership to honor a warranty can still be a headache if they want to push back.
@TacomaTraveler4
Funny thing is, my dealership didn’t even know the truck had remote start. Their so-called tech guy told me it didn’t come with it, but they could install one.
A couple of weeks later, they admitted they couldn’t install remote start at all. I just showed them it already had it built in. They had these trucks for over a year and still had no idea.
That color looks incredible.
That’s one sharp-looking Tacoma.
How much did the upgrade cost you? And did it change your fuel economy much?

I went from around 19 mpg to 15 mpg. If I switch to eco mode, I can still hit 20 mpg, but most of my driving is highway.
As for the cost, I don’t remember the exact number, but it was somewhere between $2,600 and $2,900, including an alignment.
@Dakota
Thanks for sharing! I have a Tacoma and was thinking about doing the same thing. Your truck looks awesome!
