Anyone else take their truck out on rough roads with a new setup?

I got a lift and some new tires last fall but hadn’t really tested them out properly until Monday. Went scouting for spring bear and finally gave it a good run on some back roads. I was really happy with how everything performed.

The Geolander AT XD tires were great through snow, ice, and mud. It was warm so the roads had all kinds of stuff going on. They’re way better than the BFG K02s I had before.

The Bilstein 5100 shocks made a huge difference too. Not the worst roads I’ve been on, but my truck has never handled off-road this well before. Can’t wait for spring to bring in more mud and mess so I can see what this setup really does.

Looks awesome… what size are your tires and what wheels are those?

They’re 285/70R17 Yokohama Geolander AT XDs with 17x9 Black Rhino Raid wheels. I really like the setup. It looks good, performs great, and people always mention it when I’m at the gas station.

That’s a solid build. What’s the full suspension setup? I’m thinking of getting 5100s too but not sure what coil springs to go with.

I went with Bilstein 5100s all around, SPC upper control arms, and I’m still using the stock springs for now. I might upgrade them later. In the back I’ve got the Dakar medium weight leafs.

Nice ride.

Looks awesome… congrats. Do the 5100s feel stiffer than stock?

Yeah, they’re not as soft as the stock ones but they take bumps way better off-road. Driving over washboard roads is smooth now. I’m really happy with them. Even my Dad wants a set for his Chevy after trying mine.
