I’ve been thinking about getting a new ride and for a while now, I’ve been eyeing the 2024 Tacoma. Honestly, I know I don’t really need a truck, but I just love the way it looks. Sure, I’d take it out for some light trails with my dog, but other cars could handle that. The thing is, I’m coming from a 2016 Focus Hatchback and want something more rugged.
I’ve also looked into the 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness, which makes more sense, but I still keep thinking about the Tacoma. I even test drove the Outback, but then I saw a Tacoma on the road and couldn’t take my eyes off it.
Anyone else here get a Tacoma just because they wanted to, even though they didn’t really need one? I’m looking for some justification (or maybe just some encouragement lol).
I got a 2023 TRD Sport recently. I didn’t need a truck at all, but it just looked so good! If you want it and can afford it, why not? We should enjoy life sometimes.
I don’t need a truck most days, but it’s great to have when I do. Like when my ex suddenly dumped me and I had to move out in a tiny car, with barely any space to fit anything. That memory pushed me to get a Tacoma.
A Subaru would save you a lot on gas. Honestly, the regular models can handle most off-road situations unless you’re doing hardcore trails. I went with a Tacoma because it’s more reliable and has space for my camping gear. It just fits my needs better.
I could’ve gone with a 4Runner, but a truck bed is just too useful. I learned the hard way that an SUV doesn’t always cut it. Still, evacuating for a hurricane made me appreciate the full coverage of a real trunk space, which trucks don’t have.
When I bought my Tacoma in 2018, I didn’t need it. Over the years, my hobbies changed, and now I can’t imagine life without a truck. Funny how that happens.
Mine was all about wants. No more U-Haul rentals, easy beach and camping trips, and being able to load up gear on a whim. I didn’t need any of it, but I definitely wanted it.
I bought a 2023 Tacoma because I needed a truck, but my old Outback was still a beast on snow-covered back roads. The Tacoma feels like a solid upgrade.
I don’t need a truck either, but it comes in handy for random trailer towing and carrying big stuff. I ended up with a Frontier because of a good deal, but any well-maintained truck will do the job.
