Wait… is Bill Gates lurking around here with all that money talk?
If I hit the jackpot, you’d never hear it from me, but you’d notice the signs, trust me!
Make sure to check the PCV valve while you’re in there. Had issues with my intercooler pump acting up, so maybe add an indicator light if it fails. Otherwise, at low RPM, you might get some pre-ignition from the extra heat. No check engine light since it all happens past the MAF sensor.
Oh, someone’s got money, money!
Who did you get to do the tuning after the install?

Pretty sure Magnuson sends a premade tune specific to the engine, so all you need to do is update.
More powerrrrr!
I had one of these on my GMC 1/2 ton single cab… you’re going to love it!
Looking good!
Nice, got that supercharger in place! While you have everything apart, check belts, plugs, and ignition components too. Don’t skip the gaskets—they help keep the whole system reliable. If this is your third supercharged Yota, you know the sound you’re after. Cheers to more fun with this beast!
Are you sticking with the stock pulleys and fuel setup? Or upgrading to get that extra power?

Just aiming to get it running smoothly first and set up all my gauges. After that, I’ll likely go for a small power boost. Planning on an OTT tune with the stock pulley shaved down a bit for a slight power increase but still looks stock for smog checks.
Woooahh, impressive!
Man, I want this kit too! Could you update us on how the tuning works out? Thanks! I think it comes with the Bully Dog tuner, right? Personally, I’d probably add a bigger aluminum radiator just to play it safe.
Will adding a supercharger mess with my MPG?

If you’re looking at a supercharger, MPG is probably low on your list! I’ve thought about it too… mostly for that whine and an extra 80 hp boost.
@Tru
It’s really about ‘smiles per gallon’! Towing before supercharging, I got 10 MPG. Towing the same trailer after the supercharger, still 10 MPG, but it’s way easier.

Yeah, but it’s not as bad as you’d think. Drive normal, and the drop isn’t huge, but if you’re heavy on the pedal, it’ll dip more. My 4Runner went from around 23 MPG to 21-22 MPG with normal driving after the supercharger.
@Dell
There’s a solid book by Heywood on internal combustion engines that covers this. Your experience sounds typical. The supercharger adds a bit more load, so you’ll lose around 5-10% power just maintaining speed. But step on it, and you get more air/fuel, which means more power—just using up more fuel too.
