My heater and AC randomly stop working. It happens more when using AC in hot weather. It always comes back after a few seconds, sometimes a minute. I’ve looked everywhere but haven’t found anything that matches this issue on older Tacomas. Has anyone dealt with this or know what I should check? Would really appreciate the help.
Sounds like a bad ground wire somewhere. Tracking it down might take a bit of time but that’s where I’d start.
Yeah, reminds me of my first car. Spent over $200 on parts before realizing it was just a wire from the neutral safety switch to the starter.
Is it all fan speeds or just some of them? The blower resistor often causes stuff like this. On older trucks, the switch can also have bad solder points.
I usually run it on high but I’ll test the other speeds now too.
Had the same thing on my 2009. Replacing the blower motor resistor whip solved it.
