I have a 21 V6 4x4 long box double cab. It’s rated for about 6,400lbs towing. I’m thinking about towing a 19’ aluminum boat, which will weigh about 4,500lbs including the fuel and trailer (it has trailer brakes). What do you think? Is it a good idea?
Send it.
I tow a 23’ sailboat with all the gear and it’s just fine. The manual might give some pointers, but it doesn’t seem to matter much. Your vehicle should handle it.
How far are you towing it? Will you be going through any steep areas or hills?

Also, how loaded is the cab and bed? Are the trailer tongue weight and hitch mount height set right? Have you checked the trailer tire pressure? You don’t want a flat or a tire popping on the road without a spare. Also, is there a boat ramp? Will it be icy?
No issues. Especially if the trailer has electric brakes.
No issues at all. I think it’s even lighter than you think.

That’s what I was thinking. Aluminum hulls are pretty light. Either he has a huge engine or a really heavy trailer. Or maybe it’s closer to 3,200lbs. A 19’ Grady White center console weighs about 2,500lbs without the trailer.
@Pax
With the towing option, he should be fine.
