Can’t help but love this truck, anyone else feel the same?

I’m absolutely loving this truck! Here are some photos of my 2019 TRD Off-Road double cab with a long bed in Cavalry Blue.

It’s still on the stock suspension and fitted with slim 33s (Wildpeak AT4Ws), along with RCI sliders, RCI fuel tank skid, RCI transmission skid, and an RCI transfer case skid, plus a TRD Pro front skid.

I’ve also added a few extras: ditch lights, an Up Top Overland rack, a powered accessory mount, a GMRS radio, and a Softopper that I managed to pick up secondhand for an amazing deal.

I’m pretty new to off-roading and used to think the longer wheelbase might hold me back a bit. While it probably does to some extent, it hasn’t been a major issue yet. This truck keeps impressing me with its capabilities, and the long bed is great for carrying gear on trips and even serves as a spot to sleep.

Out of our four vehicles, this is definitely the one we’ll be keeping the longest!

How do you like the Wildpeaks in that size? I’m running Toyo AT3s in 265/75/16 (32 inches), but thinking of switching to skinny 33s in a couple of years.

I’m planning to go with skinnies too, maybe by summer. Everything I’ve read says they’re more practical than my 265s, though the 265s are amazing in snow and ice.

@Glock
The only thing that makes me hesitate is that a lot of skinnies are E-load tires, so I guess that means I’d need to get some really light wheels lol.

Not sure, but wouldn’t the narrow width help offset the extra rubber thickness and make them a bit lighter? I’ve read that 255s are more efficient, but honestly not 100% on that.

@Glock
They’ll be lighter than a wider tire but still heavier than stock size, especially with a higher load rating. It’s all about finding a balance between what you want from the tire and what you’re willing to give up (I think that goes for any upgrade).

@Uma
Got it, that makes sense. I’m still leaning towards the skinnies, especially for the extra clearance on my long bed. Plus, I don’t need a lift just yet.

Totally! Skinnies are a good choice, especially if you can fit them without a lift!

@Glock
Only downside with skinnies is fewer options in that size, and the price can be a bit steep.
