Considering a 2023 TRD Off-Road: Are the Tech Upgrades Worth It?

I’ve never owned a truck before and am transitioning from a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. I’m debating whether to go for the barebones model or the tech package with crawl control. I’m curious about how often the Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM), Multi-Terrain Select (MTS), and Crawl Control are actually used.

I’ve seen some impressive videos where Crawl Control helps in deep sand and MTS works as a pseudo front locker, performing better than expected.

Will getting these upgrades benefit me in the long run, particularly regarding resale value?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I bought a 2023 TRD Off-Road just over a month ago. It’s my first truck, and I have no regrets. It’s exactly what I wanted, including crawl control, even though I probably won’t use it much. The options on the Off-Road model were the best fit for me.

For resale value, the TRD Off-Road might be worth it because it has the rear e-locker. But I don’t think you should spend $6,000 just for future resale value.

I chose the SR5 4x4, and it’s always been enough for me. I only do light off-roading, like driving on fire roads and in the snow. 4x4 should be the minimum, and get the e-locker if you plan on serious off-roading.
