Did I overpay for my 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport 2WD?

I just picked up a 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport 2WD, and I’m really hoping you can help me figure out if I got a good deal or if I overpaid. I ended up shelling out $40k right off the lot, and now I’m a bit anxious about whether that was a wise choice.

Here’s a snapshot of the truck.

It’s a great-looking ride, but I’m curious to hear about the 4th generation Tacomas. Are there any major issues or concerns I should be aware of? Did I make a mistake, or did I get a decent deal for what I paid? I’d really appreciate any insights or advice you can offer.

Hey, as long as you’re happy with it, that’s what matters. But honestly, I’d consider looking into walking or other options before spending $40K on a 2WD midsize truck.

Man, I’m actually tearing up right now. I traded in my car as well, and I’m starting to think I won’t be able to get it back.

It’s a great truck, and it’s your money to spend however you like. You liked it enough to buy it, and you were happy with your decision before you asked for opinions on Reddit, where most people can be pretty negative. Keep the truck, enjoy it, and don’t let anyone else tell you how to spend your money.

I’m paying $860 a month for my Tacoma. It makes me cry every month.

I recently bought a 2024 TRD Off-Road Premium for $55k, and with the total out-the-door cost at $62k, I put $11k down and now have a monthly payment of $865.

I was in the same boat about a year ago, trading in my beloved vehicle over some temporary problems. I often regret giving up the truck, except when I’m out camping and doing things I couldn’t do before. You’ve got a great truck, enjoy it.

I’ve had my 2nd Gen Pre-Runner for 15 years and I still love it, even though it’s just 2WD. You just have to understand its limitations, and you’ll be very happy with it.

Regarding the price, they’re not going to be any cheaper next year, so it is what it is.
