Saw someone talk about how great this button is last night on here and I’ve never used it before. I take highways to work and this completely changes the entire drive. Feels smoother and easier to get some get up when I need it. How long can I keep it on for at a time??
Get a OTT tune. It’ll make you fall in love again.

I have the OTT tune, and agree it’s great. BUT it’s not perfect. Something I’ve noticed that isn’t mentioned enough is that the throttle input is touchy at low speeds. Almost feels like an on-off switch rather than a smooth, gradual increase. If you often drive in heavy traffic it’s very noticeable. I have it on mild/medium setting, FYI
@Noor
This is why I always recommend an actual tuner over OTT.
Cost is similar to OTT if not identical, and they can make tweaks to throttle inputs to match your desired pedal feel.
Usually only takes one or two tries to get it perfect.
I’ve even done custom shift maps for different situations.
OTT tuners can’t even open the files to see what they’re putting on your truck!
@Sawyer
I think I’m going this route after a year with OTT. The hair-trigger throttle is god awful, I don’t remember what it felt like stock but I hate driving this thing in traffic because of it.

One of the other things I’ve done for people a few times, for people who do low-speed rock crawling, is set up the ECT button to dumb down the throttle, and locks out everything above 2nd gear. I’ve tried it myself on some crazy hard trails and it works great.
@Sawyer
I’ve got an OTT tune and I don’t experience any of this. It drives like it did before but with smoother power and shifting.
@Noor
I’ve brought this up a few times and everyone tends to agree that it’s way too touchy at slow speeds, but it hardly ever is mentioned.

Just started looking into tuning my 23 OR. What’s the best tune to buy? And is this a DIY thing or take it to a shop for a reflash like we used to do the BMWs at Dinan?
@Noor
I had the same problem with the CVC tune I had on my 2018 Pro. I actually preferred the performance variant of the basic OV Tune (the tune that pretty much all the other custom tunes are based on). The throttle felt better and the power level was perfect.
@Fintan
Thanks! This might be exactly what I’m looking for.
@Noor
I 100% agree. Too touchy sometimes at low speeds. One thing I found out was putting the gear in ‘S’ makes it less touchy and feels more lenient to throttle input. Hopefully, it’ll work for you guys.
@Noor
Have them remap it, mine was the same way. Don’t get the mid tune, go with the regular tune.

Is there a better way to get mine tuned than making the 6-hour round trip drive to the closest OTT partner shop?
Used when towing or mountain driving. When using ‘S’ mode you can upshift or downshift manually on an automatic transmission going up or down on hills… kinda like a commercial vehicle.
@Omar
You can rent out a tune kit and have a tune shop call you and guide you through it, that’s what I did!

Oh, that’s awesome! But do I just call up a shop and ask to rent it? Also, how do I get it without having to drive to pick it up?
@Omar
Fairly certain yotatune can send you a Gen 3 ECU, and you send yours back once you get it.

Here’s the link: Remote Tuning — YotaTune, not the way I went, but yeah.

This is the answer
