That truck is definitely a head-turner!
You made a great choice

I’ve had my TRD Pro for almost a year now, and I’m still amazed it’s in my driveway
@Vern
Same here! Every time I see mine, it makes me smile. Can’t wait to pass it down to my kids someday!
You should consider Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires for your next set. They’re awesome!

I’d suggest Falken Wildpeak AT/3 tires instead!

The AT/3’s are solid. But if it’s snow-heavy where you live, the newer AT/4’s might not hold up as well. Something to think about!

Thanks for the recommendation! Are the Mickey Thompsons good for winter conditions? It gets pretty serious up here with the snow, as you can see in the pics.
@Fin
For heavy snow, you’ll probably want studded tires and some sandbags in the back for extra traction. Oh, and don’t forget to get it fluid-filmed to protect against rust. By the way, smart move avoiding a Jeep!
@Tan
Haha, thanks! I just lost my Jetta in an accident (not my fault), and after that, I didn’t feel comfortable going for another small car. I debated between getting an older beater or something reliable and went with this. No regrets so far!
@Fin
Sorry to hear about your Jetta. Getting a midsize truck was a great call! You’ll love the convenience of hauling stuff without asking for help. And yeah, driving in snow will feel way safer now. Enjoy the 4-wheel drive!
@Tan
I used my Jetta like a truck for years—hauling rocks, bricks, even 14-foot lumber sticking out of the trunk! It feels amazing to finally own a real truck.

Haha, that Jetta earned its keep! Now all your friends and family are going to say, “Finally got a truck, huh?” Just wait for the moving day calls!
@Tan
Haha, right? Or worse: “Hey, can I borrow you and your truck this weekend?”
Mind sharing how much you paid? I’m hoping to snag one too.

Just over $40k before taxes. It had around 15k miles and was previously a company car for a Toyota exec, so it was well-maintained. You might find better deals depending on your location. Used cars in Michigan tend to be pricey.
@Fin
I’m looking for something similar—2021 to 2023 models—but dealers here in Florida are asking for $48k. It’s crazy!

Yeah, mine came to about that after taxes and fees. You should check states like Kentucky, Tennessee, or Virginia. I’ve bought cars from out of state before and found way better prices than Florida’s market.
