Getting PPI for Tacoma with Mods

Hello fellow Tacoma people,

I just won the right to purchase a Tacoma via an auctioning website and have some questions about getting a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) ahead of finalizing the purchase.

The truck is located out of state in Santa Monica, CA, and I don’t personally know any trusted mechanics in the area. Additionally, the truck has some modifications, with the major one being a suspension lift. Will this reduce the value of a Toyota dealership PPI? Are there any other options? TIA :yum:

I recently went through a similar situation when buying a used vehicle from out of state, and I understand your concerns. For a Tacoma with modifications like a suspension lift, getting a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) is crucial. While a Toyota dealership PPI might be less thorough on modified vehicles, a good option is to find a reputable local mechanic or inspection service specializing in lifted trucks. You can search for reviews or ask for recommendations in the Santa Monica area. It’s worth noting that a detailed PPI will help you uncover any potential issues and ensure you’re making a sound investment. If you’re unsure about local mechanics, online reviews or forums related to Tacoma enthusiasts can provide valuable leads.
