How can I tell if my Toyota Tacoma has LED headlights?

Hey everyone! I’ve been dreaming of getting a Tacoma for years, and I’m finally ready to buy one. I’m looking at 2019-2022 TRD Off-Road models. My question is, how can I tell if a Tacoma has LED headlights? It’s really hard to figure out from online photos, and not all listings have detailed info. Sorry if this has been asked before, but I did some searching and couldn’t find much. Any help would be appreciated

If you can find pictures of the truck, here’s a tip: LED headlights don’t have that clear, circular projector in the middle. The overall shape might look the same, but that missing projector circle is your giveaway. :mag_right:

Got it. That’s super helpful. I was confused because the housing looks so similar. Now that you mention it, I can totally see the difference. Thanks so much :raised_hands:

LEDs also have DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) that turn into the turn signals. They’re awesome when you see them in action. :oncoming_automobile::sparkles:

If you’re looking at 2020 and up, you can spot the LEDs by the C-shaped DRL. Super easy to recognize once you know what to look for. :sunglasses:

Thanks, I appreciate the heads-up :+1:

One more thing, LEDs didn’t come from the factory until 2020. So if you’re set on LEDs, you might want to skip the 2019 models.

Oh, that’s great to know. Thanks for the heads-up. Looks like I’ll focus on 2020 and newer then :+1:
