How Many of You Drive Around with ECT PWR On All the Time?

Hello fellas.

How many of you keep your car’s ECT PWR Electronically Controlled Transmission Power mode turned on all the time? I have been playing with it. Have there been any appreciable changes in fuel efficiency or performance?

Is there a drawback to continuously employing ECT PWR, or is it advantageous for regular driving?

When I experimented with the ECT PWR mode in my car, I noticed that it significantly improved acceleration and overall responsiveness, especially when driving on highways or during overtaking. However, I found that keeping it on all the time led to reduced fuel efficiency because the engine performs at higher RPMs more frequently. While the enhanced performance can be great for certain driving conditions, the trade-off is increased fuel consumption. For everyday driving, it’s usually best to use ECT PWR mode selectively based on your needs to balance performance and fuel economy effectively.

Keeping ECT PWR on improves performance but can reduce fuel efficiency. It’s useful for towing or hilly terrain, but for everyday driving, it might be better to use it as needed to save on fuel.
