Is anyone else getting rough shifts out of first with the OTT tune?

I’ve had the OTT tune set on mild and medium for a few months now. Most of the time I really like it. Right after I installed it, I did a long 600+ mile drive and it was way better than stock. At around 5,000 feet and driving over 80 MPH, I averaged 23 MPG. Around town it’s been around 18 to 19 MPG, which is fine by me.

But here’s the issue… at low speeds it gets super jerky. If I’m not really gentle on the gas, it feels like I’m getting tossed forward and back. It mostly happens when I’m driving slowly through parking lots. It drops into first gear right before I stop, and when I touch the gas it just jumps.

Not sure I’m explaining it right… but should I switch to a lighter tune setting? Or is this just how these tunes act? I’m running everything stock right now, so maybe heavier tires and wheels would help?

I just installed the same tune a few days ago. From what I can tell, that kind of jerky feeling seems normal. I talked to a co-worker who’s had it longer and his does the same thing.

Same for me. I’ve got bigger all terrain tires on and it still acts like that. Stop and go traffic is annoying with it… you really have to feather the gas. Mine loves to drop to first gear even when second would’ve been fine.

Sounds like your tune might be a bit too strong. I’d go back and ask for the lite version. Then maybe run mild or medium just on the ECT.

I’m actually running mild and medium right now. I’ve been thinking about switching to light and mild instead.

@Noor
Yeah I’d try light and mild or even light and medium. It should smooth things out a bit.
