I got a new 2023 Tacoma TRD Off Road a couple of months ago. I couldn’t resist taking it on a trail the first week I had it. I’m new to the Tacoma world. I already have some plans for this truck, with the main goal being to figure out my camping setup.
Right now, I’m weighing the pros and cons of a camper shell (I have a 5-foot bed; I’m 5’10”) versus a rooftop tent (RTT). I do a lot of camping on the weekends when I go rock climbing. My current setup is a ground tent, but I’ve been considering switching to an RTT or camper shell. At the moment, I’m leaning toward the RTT.
What do you think; RTT or camper shell for a short bed? And why? Also, please feel free to share your setup and why you love it. Looking for some inspiration
