I’m in the market for a new vehicle since my Prius C is gone. I’ve always liked the Tacoma and Tundra and would love some advice. I know the Tacoma is a smaller truck, but is there anyone around 6’3" here who has one? How’s the room for you and passengers in the back? If I decide to get one, it will be the long bed double cab. Anything else I should know?
I’m 6’250 and I love my Tacoma. But if I could’ve gotten the Tundra, I would’ve for more space. I also drive a Chevy 2500 work truck and the space in it is great!
I’m 6ft and 230lbs. The Tacoma’s size pushes my comfort limits. The Seat Jacket kit helps, but I don’t have much headroom. It’s fine for short trips, but longer ones (1+ hours) are a bit tight. Your experience might differ.
I’m 6’2 250lbs and I had the new Tundra, but honestly, I didn’t like it. The rear seats were too small for me, and I found the driver’s seat to be uncomfortable even though the cabin was large. My friend’s kids complain about how the back seats roll.
I ended up trading it in the same day they recalled the engines, which was the final straw. The older Tundras (21 and earlier) are more reliable and less tech-heavy.
Now, I have a manual 21 Tacoma access cab, and I love it! It’s smaller, but I’ve added a lot of comfort mods. My girlfriend loves it, and even my dog enjoys the back seat after I removed the back seat.
If you’re after a more spacious pickup, you might have to go for an American truck, but I can’t really speak to that.
I’m 5’11 but I like my seat way back. The rear seat space is the only downside for me. For me, the Tacoma is perfect because I needed a truck that would fit in my garage. I love the truck, but yeah, the back seat is a bit tight.
