Tacoma towing capacity

Hi everyone, I want the greatest towing capacity possible on a Tacoma that I am considering buying. A wide range, from 3500 to 6800 lbs, is reported by online sources. What kind of cargo is capable of towing 6800 pounds? I have been told so far that it needs to be the v6, extended bed, and non-TRD, which means an SR5 with the tow package. Am I correct? Assist a fellow man , is there a list of those that can?

To tow 6800 lbs with a Tacoma, you’ll need the V6 engine, extended bed, and tow package. SR5 should work!

When I was searching for the Toyota Tacoma with the highest towing capacity, I found that the V6 engine is essential for towing up to 6,800 pounds. To achieve this capacity, you need the SR5 trim with the tow package, typically paired with the extended bed. The TRD models, while great for off-road, don’t have the same towing specs. For reference, a Tacoma capable of towing 6,800 pounds can handle larger trailers, boats, or heavy equipment. It’s crucial to ensure you have the right configuration and options to match those towing specs. Checking the exact vehicle specifications and consulting with a dealer can confirm you’re getting the right setup for your towing needs

For 6800 lbs, get a V6, extended bed, SR5 with tow package.
