I’ve never posted before since I joined. I want to replace the head unit in my Tacoma with a car play unit. Does anyone know of any that are reasonably priced without sacrificing quality?
Wireless CarPlay/AA is available with an excellent add-on module from CarSyncTech if you’d rather not replace your HU. After six months of ownership, mine has remained faultless. Since you must remove your Entune HU, the installation is a little more complicated, but even that process was really simple.
@Brooklyn Thank you, this is just what I was looking for!
@Bryce not an issue. You won’t be sorry. Be aware that there are less expensive options available that perform the same function, but they are erratic and sluggish, and many users have reported issues with screen resolution. Get the CarSyncTech one and save the extra money.
@Brooklyn They’re out of stock right now, but I’ll keep an eye on them.
Hello, Sony XAV-AX8100: Popular for its plug-and-play compatibility and sound quality.
Pioneer AVH-X3900S: Balances features with affordability.
Kenwood DMX7706S: Noted for its clear display and robust features.
Important Considerations:
- Compatibility: Ensure it works with your Tacoma’s wiring harness; adapters might be needed.
- Installation: Easy for most, but complex setups may require professional help.
- Features: Evaluate screen size, sound quality, connectivity options (Bluetooth, USB, AUX), and extra functionalities like backup cameras and navigation.
