Thinking of switching from Continentals, anyone try these Toyos?

I’ve been rocking the Continental A/Ts and honestly love them, but I’m curious about these Toyos. Anyone here have experience with them? Looking for some real-life feedback.

I’ve had both these and the Wildpeaks. Near the end of life, the Toyos got a bit loud, but that’s pretty normal for A/T tires. They were great off-road, though. Wildpeaks look better and have been quiet and smooth so far.

@Eli
My Continentals have been loud as they wear down too. It’s like each tire has a unique hum now. Been using Continentals forever on different cars.

Might go with these next. Went through a couple of Cooper sets before, but the second set wouldn’t balance well, so now I’m on Wildpeaks. Curious if Toyos have any uneven wear issues?

I have the older A/T II version. They’ve been solid, but I’m not sure what’s different about the A/T III.

Are they noisy?

I have them in 275/70/17. They do make some noise… a low buzz that I can cover up with music. My old BFG KO2s were actually quieter.

I didn’t notice much noise compared to stock. Driving a 2018 SR5 with factory suspension.

Got them in stock size (245/75R/16) back in April. They’re decent but louder on the highway than I’d like. My truck’s mainly for pavement, but we go camping and hiking sometimes, so they come in handy. Mostly bought them because they were on sale and available. Not a ton to complain about, just wish they were quieter.

@Rowan
Sounds like you have some regrets?

Haha, maybe a little.

I’m a Wildpeak fan, planning to try KO3s next. My dad swears by Toyos, though, and puts them on everything. You probably can’t go wrong with these top-tier A/Ts.

Been running them for 15k miles. Good in snow, okay in wet conditions. Noise is there but not terrible. They feel a bit soft, so I’m curious how long they’ll last. Only done some light off-roading, but they did great in a muddy field.

Mine are 275/70/17 on a 2.5” lift. They do make noise, but it’s manageable. Not bad otherwise.

Running them in 265/70/17. Quiet enough on the highway, solid performance off-road. No complaints.

Had the A/T II’s before… good, no problems, got them for a decent price too. Just didn’t look as aggressive on the truck as I’d hoped. Now using General Grabber ATX on my Tundra and Wildpeak A/Ts on my Tacoma. Both handle mountain roads well.

Rocky Mountain A/T tires from Discount Tire are underrated. Had them for 6 months, and they’re just as good as pricier ones. Got them for $850 installed, 285/75/16.

Used to run them on my 4Runner. Solid tire, and not loud at all.

Been using them, and they’re great. Ride smoother and quieter than Wildpeaks or KO2s. Took them off-roading early on, and they did well on rocks. Got them on sale, and I’d definitely buy again if the price is right.

On my second set for my Tacoma, and I’m planning to get a set for my 4Runner too. Love these tires.
