Two questions about my new 2024 Tacoma Pro

I just brought my new Tacoma Pro home today, and wow, there’s so much to figure out with all these features! I’ve managed to grasp most things, but it has me stumped. Despite poring over the Owner’s Manual several times, I couldn’t find answers to the following.

Can anyone help?

Question 1:

What does the green “READY” indicator mean on the lower left side of the gauge display?

Question 2:

Does my Pro have “Auto Start-Stop?” The engine seems to shut off at stoplights and restart when I press the accelerator… and I’m not a fan! Is there a way to disable this feature?

I have tried to find these answers in the manual without luck.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

The green ready light indicates that the car is turned on and ready to go. Toyota has designed it this way because, after pressing the start button, the engine might not activate until you press the gas pedal. If you accelerate gently, the car may operate on electric power alone.

All hybrids feature automatic start-stop functionality, which means the engine will shut down and run on electric power while driving. This feature cannot be bypassed.

I never knew or had forgotten about the auto start-stop feature on hybrids. Does this apply to all Toyota 48-volt mild hybrid models, including the Tundra?
