Switched from a 2011 4runner SR5 Premium to a 2023 Tacoma Trail. Pros include the stylish look, improved tech, locking rear differential, and better power. Downsides are a bumpier ride, slightly less interior space, no 120v outlet in the cabin, and lower fuel efficiency. Overall, I’m really enjoying this truck so far and looking forward to more updates.
Nice upgrade. I moved from a 2011 Tacoma 4x4 Single cab to a 2022 Tacoma 4x4 Double cab. You mentioned lower MPG? The numbers are pretty close from the 4L V6 to the 3.5L V6.

Yeah, I’ve only put about 700 miles on the Taco so far, but it drives similarly to the 4runner. So far, it’s using about 2 gallons less per mile. This isn’t a perfect comparison since I drove the 4runner for 70,000 miles.
@True
Depending on where you are, we’re currently in a season with higher RVP (Reid vapor pressure) for colder weather. Higher RVP means slightly lower MPG compared to spring or summer. In my 2022 Tacoma, this ends up being about a 2-3 MPG difference compared to lower RVP gas. I’ve also noticed that my 2022 has varied MPG depending on the gas station. Trying different brands can make a difference. It might sound weird, but my 2011 didn’t care what brand I used. My 2022 is picky. Welcome to the club!
Those wheels look great.

I love those bronze wheels so much that I got them for my Off Road before even taking delivery.
I enjoy my Trail edition. Hope you do too.
Black Trails look amazing. You can add a 120v plug for $99 and be set.
You made a great choice, those wheels are awesome.
I wish I had a black Taco. It looks really nice.
