I have been searching for a used Tacoma and I am shocked at how pricey they are. What is puzzling is seeing 1-5 year old Tacoma TRDs listed for $35-42k, even with over 50k miles. You can get a brand new TRD for $42k.

Who is buying these? It’s really surprising. Am I missing something?

I would like to find one for under $30k, but they all seem to have over 150k miles.

Tacoma prices are crazy! Used ones with over 50k miles are listed for crazy high prices, even close to new ones. This seems weird because Tacomas are known to last forever. Finding one under $30k might be tough - I might have to expand my search or consider a different trim. Hopefully prices come down soon!

A new TRD costs 42k.If you can find one, make sure it is free of markups.

You’re right, used Tacomas, especially TRDs, are expensive! It’s a crazy market due to their legendary toughness and high demand for trucks. Don’t expect a shiny new TRD under $30k with high miles.
Finding a Tacoma under $30k:

  • Look at older models (pre-2016) or non-TRD trims (SR5, TRD Sport).
  • Expand your search online to other areas.
  • Negotiate hard, especially on high-mileage trucks.
  • Be patient, the market might change eventually.
