What are the best headlight assembly options for a 2012 Toyota Tacoma?

I’m trying to help my brother get new headlight assemblies for his 2012 Tacoma. They’re really fogged up, cracked, and water keeps getting inside. I’ve looked for cheaper sets, but most have bad reviews, people say they leak, don’t fit well, or the adjustment screws don’t even work. He’s just looking for something similar to the stock ones, nothing too fancy like LED strips or anything. Any recommendations for clear or black housings that look OEM?

If your brother isn’t too worried about getting new OEM or high-end ones, he could try sealing up the cracks with some epoxy. If it’s just the seals, he could bake them, take them apart, and reseal them. From what you’re describing, they don’t seem too far gone.

I don’t have a great picture of them right now, but trust me, the cracks are pretty bad in person. I think they’re beyond saving, unfortunately.

Another option might be getting the OEM Pro housings. Here are the part numbers:
Right #81110-04221
Left #81150-04221
Best prices are usually at toyotapartsdeal.com.

Are those the TRD Pro housings? I’ve been seeing conflicting info about the part numbers for the 2nd and 2.5 gen models.

Yeah, those are the Pro part numbers for the 2.5 gen models, specifically from 2012-2015.

Honestly, I’d just stick with stock. Most aftermarket options either look too flashy or don’t fit the truck’s style. I’d say get stock housings and upgrade the bulbs to something like 3k for better brightness.

If you’re looking for something that’ll last and not need to be replaced every couple of years, check out the Morimoto XB Hybrid assemblies. They’re a bit pricey, but the build quality, light output, and cut-off are all excellent. Plus, they come with a 5-year warranty. They’ll definitely give the truck a more updated, aggressive look.

Those look amazing, but $900 is way out of our price range right now .

I picked these up as replacements for mine, and I’m really happy with them so far: Anzo Headlights for 2012 Tacoma.

These look pretty solid, thanks for the suggestion!
