I just picked up a 2022 TRD Off-Road 4x4 Tacoma and I’m looking for recommendations on running boards. Are there any good companies or websites to check out?
What about some locally made rock sliders?
I mainly need something to help me get in and out of the truck, but I’ll definitely consider that. Thanks!
If sliders aren’t your thing, you can find OEM steps pretty cheaply on the used market. People often sell them when they switch to sliders. Check out Tacomaworld’s sale section or Facebook Marketplace. Personally, I like the flat step version over the predator tube step because it looks more like a traditional running board.
Sounds good, thanks for the tip!
I have the OEM ones without steps (they’re aluminum), and they do a great job keeping stones off the rockers. They might be a bit shallow for stepping, but they work well enough for my kids.
I just got these and I’m loving them - Rough Country Steps
Steps are even cooler if they retract automatically! Check these out - AMP Research Steps.
Thanks for sharing that!
I installed a set on an Expedition for a guy who weighs about 250 lbs, and they held up perfectly. They’re really strong and even have lights that face down when they open. Pretty neat, if you ask me.
