What are the pros and cons of getting smoked tail lights for a Toyota Tacoma?

What are the ups and downs of choosing smoked tail lights for a Toyota Tacoma? I’m stuck between getting smoked or clear ones. I thought I’d ask for your thoughts since I’m a bit indecisive. My Taco is Magnetic Gray by the way.

I don’t really like smoked tail lights. Why would you want to make it harder for others to see you

I get what you mean I almost rear-ended someone before because of those smoked tail lights

I hate to be the buzzkill but I had smoked light covers years back. It felt like driving around with a sign that said “please pull me over.” Just a heads up about the regulations in your state

Honestly, it doesn’t matter what the rules are you’ll get profiled no matter what

Have you ever tried seeing lit up lights through smoked brake light housings on a sunny day? It’s nearly impossible to tell if they’re braking

Yeah I hear you I have a 22 TRD OR MGM and in my state, the taillights just need to be visible from 1,000 feet with a reflector. I understand the concern but some people just look for reasons to pull you over

Clear lens with black housing is the way to go

Nothing beats smoked tail lights if you want to make it harder to see brake lights
