So, here’s the thing, I’ve been seeing this “Happy Honda Days” stuff floating around, and honestly, it kind of gets under my skin. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I get that other brands have their own celebrations and promotions, but here in my world, we’re all about Toyotathon.
I remember last year when Toyotathon rolled around, it was like a mini holiday for all the Tacoma enthusiasts in my circle. We had a little gathering, showed off our rides, and swapped stories about our favorite features and mods. It was all about celebrating what we love about our Toyotas and sharing that joy with fellow Tacoma owners.
So when someone wishes me “Happy Honda Days,” it’s almost like they’re interrupting our own special moment. It’s not just about the trucks; it’s about the camaraderie and the pride in what we drive. We’ve got our own traditions, and it feels like a personal thing.
So, let’s keep the spirit of Toyotathon alive and well, and remember, there’s always room for celebrating what makes us excited about our own rides.
Hey, at least they’re not like GMC, which advertises giving away a brand-new Sierra and their latest SUV as a “gift.” Seriously, who has enough spare cash lying around to surprise someone with two brand-new vehicles costing at least $50K each? I’m just trying to budget for a new pillow over here
It’s a bit of a swing and a miss, especially in a time when people are struggling financially due to a global pandemic. Plus, they just recycled the same commercial from last year.
Yep, marketing budgets are usually planned well ahead of time. If sales are down for a certain manufacturer, reusing an old commercial can save a lot of money, even if it’s not ideal. Toyota seems to have handled the pandemic fairly well financially, so maybe they’re just being a bit lazy
When I got my 2020 Tacoma, there was definitely a high demand. I was coming from a 2016 Sport that I wasn’t too fond of and was specifically looking for a DCLB Off-Road in Quicksand. As soon as the dealer’s website alerted me about one, I had to commit over the phone. In my area, trucks are selling at MSRP even before they hit the lot. With everyone in the Sierra NV mountains driving pickups or SUVs, Tacomas are a hot commodity.
I got a $30k trade-in value for my 2016 model with 55k miles on it.
I ended up paying nearly $50k for my new Tacoma (including taxes) because it was fully loaded, everything you can imagine, even the chrome exhaust tip, which I find a bit over the top. But in the end, I was just thrilled to finally get the DCLB in Quicksand that I wanted.
Absolutely, That house they featured must cost a million and a half at least. I was actually discussing that commercial with my dad just the other day.
It’s more like, “Hey honey, here’s your new truck… oh, and by the way, come January, get ready for an $800 monthly payment for the next 84 months. At least the interest is 0%”
