What camper shells do you have on your 3rd gen Tacoma? Share some pictures I’m considering getting one but need some convincing, haha. What are the pros and cons? Anyone using one with a lift?
It’s a great addition to my truck.
Advantages
Easily locks a large number of devices.
One person can camp in a bed if it is short.
Defense against the weather.
A spot where the dog can relax while skiing.
More room on the roof to install racks to haul kayaks.
Cons
difficult to store or remove. Since we have another truck with an open bed, in my situation, it is not a huge concern.
The rearview mirror is essentially useless.
Not completely watertight.
I prefer the the CX Revo as it comes with:
- Frameless all glass side windows
- Frameless tailgate formed rear door with OneMotion™ handle
- Dark gray headliner
I have also been using this and I can roll into camp, open the back, and crawl straight into bed. Surprisingly, this camper shell is also significantly cheaper than a rooftop tent and bed rack.
