Every vehicle I’ve owned, my first buy has been a Haynes manual that stays in the car when I’m not using it. But now I’ve got a 2022 Tacoma, and there’s no manual like that available. What do you all use for technical info? Even just some good exploded diagrams would be helpful.
I’m trying to add an in-cab outlet, but I can’t figure out where the inverter is. I’ve watched videos and read instructions, but I have a manual transmission, and the center console looks pretty different from what I’ve seen online.
You can pay for a short-term subscription at techinfo.toyota.com and grab the full service manual as a PDF. I’ve done this for every car I’ve owned since they stopped making physical manuals around the early 2000s.
I’m lucky to have access to Toyota’s repair database, but most of what you’ll need can be found on forums for Tacoma owners. By the way, the inverter you’re looking for is under the center console, near the back seats. If you check the console from the back seat area, you can even see the vent holes for it.
I used to always get Haynes manuals too, but now everything seems to be digital. It’s annoying if you’re stuck somewhere without cell service. If you find a PDF version, save it on your phone for emergencies.
