Which camping setup for DCSB is the best?

Hi guys,

My girlfriend and I are planning a road trip out west in September, starting from Wisconsin and traveling through Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana. We’ll be camping in several National Parks along the way. I’m considering upgrading my Double Cab Short Bed (DCSB) setup. Currently, I have a soft top, but I’m thinking about switching to a hard shell or possibly a bed rack with a rooftop tent (RTT). What would be the most practical and useful setup without spending a small fortune?
