It seems like a no brainer for Toyota to release a plug-in hybrid version of the Tacoma. Has anyone heard any rumors about this happening, similar to the RAV4 Prime or Prius Prime?

Hey…Toyota has been making significant strides with its hybrid powertrains, especially in the Tacoma line. As of now, Toyota offers the Tacoma with a hybrid option called the i-FORCE MAX. This powertrain combines a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with a 48-hp electric motor, resulting in a total output of 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. This hybrid system is available on several trims, including the TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and is standard on the TRD Pro and Trailhunter models
