First Truck! Loving it So Far!

I’ve seen a lot of discourse about it being a V4 or not being a ‘real truck,’ but man, I love it. I live in San Diego, and so far, it feels like the perfect city truck. My wife and I have been going on little drives with it, and I can’t get over how comfy it is to drive. Only complaint is that the JBL speakers could be better.

I say this in the least prick way possible, but technically it’s an I4 (or L4), not a V4. The ‘V’ would suggest two cylinder banks in a ‘V’ formation, but it’s an inline engine. This design can actually be more advantageous in some ways because it’s simpler. Some of the longest-lasting engines in history are inline, like the Jeep inline 6-cylinder 4.0. As for the JBL, I thought it was bad too, but after driving another one with the base sound system, I was wrong. The JBL is at least better.

Thanks for the info drop! I’m not too knowledgeable about engines, but it definitely feels better than the Corolla I was driving before. The speakers are definitely nicer, though my standards might be a bit too high . Also, what do you mean by ceramic?

For sure :sunglasses:. Ceramic coating is a long-lasting paint protection/shine. They come as cheap as spray-ons at Walmart that last a few weeks, or you can go for the real deal that lasts years. You can DIY it for as low as $50 or pay someone crazy money to do everything for $1k or more. With your truck’s new paint, you could probably DIY. I would, anyway :sunglasses:

Gotcha. Good looking out! I’ll look into it

Hmmm, the speakers in my Trailhunter are very good. The 4-cylinder in my truck feels much stronger than my 2022 TRD Pro.

Saying they blow was harsh, but I do think for the cost, they could be better. They’re definitely better than stock, that’s for sure! I came from a Corolla, and this is much more enjoyable to drive.
