Is anyone using 275/70/17 or 275/65/18 tires on their stock Toyota Tacoma?

Is anyone here using 275/70/17 or 275/65/18 tires on their stock Toyota Tacoma? I’m curious if anyone has these sizes on stock suspension. I’m looking for advice on running 275s with either 17 or 18-inch wheels. I’d prefer not to lift my truck since it’s a Pro model, which is kinda why I got it. I’m open to suggestions though. I thought about 255s, but I’m leaning towards something a bit beefier. Thanks in advance

The best option I found is the 265/70/17

I have the 275/70/17 on my TRD Off-Road and honestly, I don’t think they’d fit without the Eibach lift. They look awesome though, everyone thinks they’re 285s. They might fit on a Pro

Yeah, the biggest issue is clearing the new UCA they upgraded in 2022. I think with a 0 offset, I’d be just fine, but finding the offset for the Pro wheels is like cracking a code

I have 4Runner Pro wheels on mine

Check this out, it has the link for the TRD Pro matte black alloy wheel for the Tacoma

Thanks, Dolph, I appreciate that link! Some say it’s a +13 offset while others mention 5, and I’ve even seen 10mm thrown around on Tacoma forums. It feels like a wild west trying to figure it out

I’m pretty sure the 17-inch 4Runner TRD Pro wheels in matte black have a +4mm offset, and I really like them so far

Honestly, I wouldn’t go with 275 wide tires. They’re a tough size and not really worth it. They mainly come in heavy load ranges, which will hurt your fuel mileage. The 265/70R17 is the largest size to keep stock fuel mileage if you stick with P-rated or 4-ply tires. If you want something beefier, P285/70R17 is a bit bigger and wider than 275/70R17 but will actually give you better fuel mileage since they’re lighter

You seem to know a lot about tires. Mind if I pick your brain a bit? What do you think about BFG T/A KO2s in 32x11.50R15/C 113R? I’ve got about a 1.75-inch lift from the previous owner, and I’m looking to go a bit bigger, but I’m hesitant about 33s

The BFG KO3 is coming out this year, so it might not be the best time to get the KO2 since they’re improving the compound and tread with the new KO3. If you’re in a dry area, the KO2 should work fine, but if you’re in a place like the PNW where it rains a lot, I wouldn’t recommend them. I had them, and they didn’t perform well here. That said, the 32x11.5x15 is a pretty heavy tire at 49 lbs. There aren’t many lighter options for 15-inch tires, so go with what you mentioned. I’d wait for the KO3 to come out though. Here’s a link to an early page on Tire Rack about it

Thanks a lot for the info. I should have mentioned I’m not restricted by wheel sizes. I’m new to the truck and trying to figure out what to do with what I have while preferably going up a size. Currently, the truck has 265/70/R16s on it three are Falken Wildpeaks, and one is a random road tire the previous owner replaced before selling it. I’d prefer to get another Falken, but since the existing ones are a bit worn, I don’t want inconsistent tread depth. The alloys are also flaking badly, so I want to replace them at the same time. I’m not in a rush but am trying to learn and research, which feels pretty overwhelming. By the way, I’m in the Midwest, so we get heavy rain and snow.

Those wheel designs you’re considering look great. There are plenty of sizes available, so I understand the struggle of trying to learn all the possible options
