Is the 1st generation Tacoma worth the price?

Hello man, I’m new to the Tacoma community. I’m looking at a 2004 Tacoma with approximately 70,000 miles. He’s seeking $11,000 for a two-wheel drive single cab.

I’m going to see him on Saturday to check out the truck.

I have some questions. First, what are some frequent things to look for when inspecting the truck? Also, looking at the market, it appears that 2WD trucks are slightly less expensive than 4WD trucks, but does this low mileage and high condition make up for the price difference?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,
1st gen Tacomas hold value due to reliability, but high prices depend on condition. Consider maintenance costs and newer options before buying.

My 2004 Tacoma has been mine for twenty years. Just last year, it required new radiator, tires, oil changes, and a couple of batteries. Thus, I’d say it’s fairly reliable.
