What’s the benefit of putting Bilstein 5100s with a 1-inch block on a Toyota Tacoma?

Hey, don’t forget the Bilstein sticker that comes in the box. That was my first big upgrade too, and the first time I ever got a sticker. Threw it on my back rack and, trust me, gained an instant 5 horsepower. :sunglasses:

Haha, I actually got one for each shock. That’s 20 extra horsepower right there! :muscle:

Love it! I’m planning to do this to my 2019 DCLB. So, you used four 5100 struts/shocks with the stock springs and a 1-inch block in the back? What size rims and tires are you rolling on?

Yeah, exactly. I’ve got Method 701’s, 8x16 rims, and stock 265/70r16 tires. I’m just waiting for these to wear out so I can upgrade to 265/75r16.

Awesome! Did you replace the spider bushing or the clamshell bushing when you did the upgrade?

Uh, can you clarify? Are you talking about the diff?

Yeah, the ECGS bushing up front. I see a lot of people on Tacoma forums changing it when they lift their trucks to avoid vibrations. I haven’t lifted mine yet, but I’m planning to do the same setup as you, so I’m curious if the bushing is a must-change.

I just looked it up. Haven’t noticed any new vibrations, and I’ve been driving it constantly. I guess I got lucky. But thanks for the heads-up, if it comes up later, I’ll know what to check.

:facepunch: Your truck looks amazing, by the way.

Thanks, man. Still in the honeymoon phase even after two years lol. Just got the alignment done, and she’s riding perfect :ok_hand:
