Hello peeps…
I’ve noticed that a lot of Tacoma owners, both online and in person, seem to prefer 17” wheels over the 16” ones. I’m curious about the reasons behind this preference. Is it for performance, aesthetics, or something else?
Can anyone shed some light on why 17” wheels are more popular? Are there specific benefits or drawbacks to choosing 17” wheels instead of sticking with the stock 16” ones? I’m considering upgrading my wheels and would love to hear your experiences and opinions.

Hallo pounds, hear this, the best choice depends on your priorities. If you value a smooth ride and affordability, 16" wheels might be ideal. If aesthetics and a wider selection of tires are more important, 17" wheels might be a better option.

Most Tacoma owners often favor 17-inch wheels over 16-inch ones because of their personal reasons.
The reasons might include:
- Tire Options: With 17-inch wheels, there’s a wider selection of tire sizes available.
- Brake Clearance: Larger wheels, like 17-inch rims, can accommodate bigger brake kits if desired. This is important for those who want enhanced braking performance or plan to upgrade their brakes in the future.
- Handling and Stability: While both 16-inch and 17-inch wheels have their merits, 17-inch alloy wheels tend to provide sportier handling by improving cornering and stability compared to 16-inch wheels
