Why was the Cement color discontinued for the Toyota Tacoma?

Why was the Cement color for the Toyota Tacoma discontinued? I ordered a 2021 Tacoma last week, and Cement was my top choice. The dealer just informed me that Toyota can’t produce it anymore because it was discontinued in 2022. I want to trust them, but it feels a bit off. Can anyone verify this?

Yeah, it looks like both Voodoo Blue and Cement are no longer available. Silver is getting some updates, and Lunar Rock is shifting from Pro trims to lower ones. They might be introducing a new color called Blue Crush too. There could be more changes coming.

Thanks for the info, that’s disappointing since I was really looking forward to the Cement color.

I’d say Lunar Rock is probably the closest alternative to Cement. Since it was previously exclusive to Pro trims, you might not see it everywhere just yet.

I do like the Lunar Rock. I guess I can ask about it, but I doubt they’ll offer it for a 2021 model.

You won’t be able to get Lunar Rock for a 2021; you’d need to order a 2022 model for that. It’s definitely worth the wait though. I managed to snag a 2021 Pro in Lunar Rock, and everyone comments on how great the color looks. Cement used to be my favorite too. Good luck

Now you’re making me consider waiting…

Oh, I didn’t realize you were still focused on the '21. You might want to check with another dealer about the Cement for 2021. Different dealers have varying allocations. Just because your dealer can’t get it doesn’t mean others can’t either. It might be worth holding out for a '22 if it’s close to the end of the run.

That’s true. I got my Lunar Rock TRD Pro from a dealership several states away, and I hope it arrives by September :crossed_fingers:t3:

Congrats on that! Back in April, I had several dealers tell me they couldn’t get the configurations I wanted. One even insisted that a Limited couldn’t be made with a 6’ bed! After showing them my build sheet, they realized it was just a wait until 2022. Fortunately, one dealer explained that they were a top volume Tacoma dealer, so they had some perks.

That sounds promising. I left my deposit in April, and my build date is May 17, so hopefully, you’ll get your build date and VIN soon. They seem to deliver pretty quickly depending on your location.

Have you been allocated one yet? My order is in, but it looks like they won’t be making Cement anymore, so dealers likely won’t be getting any.
